Getting Started

A different site for every small job makes it harder to keep moving. Open ZTools, find a tool in one catalog, and check its input, processing, and account requirements before you begin.

1. Open the app​

Open ZTools in a modern browser. Many tools are available without signing in; account and plan requirements vary by feature.

ZTools is also available on Android. Features can vary by platform. There is no iOS app; on iPhone and iPad use the web app.

2. Find a tool​

Three discovery paths:

  • Search — top-of-page search box, fuzzy match on tool name + description + category.
  • Browse — the home page groups tools by category (Text, Image, PDF, Data, etc.).
  • Direct URL — every tool has its own stable address, linked from its page in these docs. Bookmark your favorites.

3. Use the tool​

Each tool follows a similar pattern:

  1. Input area — paste, upload, or type your data.
  2. Configure — pick options (formatting style, output format, etc.).
  3. Output area — result appears live as you type, or after clicking the action button.
  4. Copy / download — one-click copy or download for the result.

Processing depends on the tool. Many tasks run in your browser; AI and some file tasks send input to a server or provider. Read the ZTools privacy policy before submitting sensitive input.

4. Save your work​

ZTools doesn't require an account, but signing in unlocks:

  • Favorites — save frequently-used tools for quick access.
  • History — review activity saved by the app when that feature is available for your account.
  • Sync — signed-in favorites and some account preferences can sync across devices.

Google sign-in uses Supabase Auth on web and Android. Signing in doesn't change a tool's processing path; read the ZTools privacy policy before submitting sensitive input.

5. Customize the experience​

The Palette icon in the top header opens a theme customizer with:

  • Appearance — light, dark, system.
  • Accent color — 26 built-in palettes.
  • Font size, scaling, border radius — accessibility-first sliders.
  • Panel background — solid or translucent.

Appearance preferences persist on your device. Signed-in favorites and some account preferences can sync across devices.

6. Share results​

Some tools offer a Share action. When one is available, review what that tool includes before you send the link or result.
