photo-collage-maker-advanced

An advanced photo collage maker arranges multiple photos into a single composite image β€” grid layouts (2Γ—2, 3Γ—3, 4Γ—3), mosaic/asymmetric layouts, freeform drag-and-drop, magazine spreads, polaroid scatter, photo-strip, and themed templates (wedding, travel, family). The ZTools Photo Collage Maker (Advanced) supports up to 30 photos per collage, drag-and-drop reordering, per-photo border / opacity / rotation, captions, background color or pattern, and exports to PNG/JPG at high resolution. Browser-only Canvas β€” your photos never leave the device.

Use cases

Wedding / family memory boards

Print a 24Γ—36" memory board collage for an anniversary gift. Magazine layouts work better than rigid grids.

Travel recap social posts

9-photo grid summarising a trip in one Instagram post. More memorable than 9 separate posts.

Product flat-lays

E-commerce product shots arranged as a grid for marketing emails or hero banners.

Before / after comparisons

Renovation, fitness, makeover, art-process β€” diptych or multi-frame side-by-side comparison.

Yearbook / annual review pages

Compile the year's best photos into a single collage for printing or sharing.

How it works

  1. Pick a layout β€” Grid (2Γ—2 / 3Γ—3 / 4Γ—3), magazine, polaroid scatter, photo-strip, freeform, themed templates.
  2. Add photos β€” Drag-drop or upload in batch. Up to 30 per collage.
  3. Per-photo tuning β€” Crop, rotate, scale, border, opacity, drop shadow per cell.
  4. Backgrounds β€” Solid color, gradient, pattern (paper, grid, wood texture), or photo background.
  5. Captions β€” Optional text overlays per photo or for the whole collage. Font/size/color customisable.
  6. Export β€” PNG (lossless, supports transparency in scatter/freeform) or JPG (smaller). Up to 4096Γ—4096 for print.

Examples

Input: 9 vacation photos + 3Γ—3 grid + thin white borders

Output: 1080Γ—1080 IG-feed-perfect 3Γ—3 collage with subtle white grid lines.

Input: 15 photos + magazine layout

Output: Asymmetric layout with featured hero photo + smaller surrounding photos. Higher visual interest than uniform grid.

Input: 4 photos + polaroid scatter + caption

Output: Memory-board feel with rotated polaroid frames and "Family 2025" caption.

Frequently asked questions

How many photos can I include?

Up to 30 photos per collage. Performance stays smooth in modern browsers; older devices may slow down with 20+ high-res photos.

What max output resolution?

4096Γ—4096 px for print quality at typical wall-art sizes. Some browsers cap at 8192; fine-tune in advanced settings.

Can I save and resume work?

Yes β€” collages save to browser storage. Reload the page, your in-progress collage is restored.

Will photos be uploaded to a server?

No β€” all processing is local. Photos and the final collage stay in your browser.

Will my collage look the same when printed?

Print uses CMYK; screens use RGB. Vivid colors may shift slightly. Order a single test print before committing to large prints.

Best size for IG vs print?

IG: 1080Γ—1080 (square) or 1080Γ—1350 (portrait). Print 11Γ—14": 3300Γ—4200 px @ 300 DPI. Print 24Γ—36": 7200Γ—10800 px @ 300 DPI (export as TIFF for max quality).

Tips

  • Group photos by theme (color, location, time) before laying out β€” visual cohesion improves dramatically.
  • Magazine layouts (one hero + supporting) feel more designed than uniform grids.
  • White or off-white borders unify a multi-photo set; matching them sells "this was designed".
  • Test print at small size (5Γ—7") before committing to large prints. Color shifts surprise people.
  • Save in PNG when transparency / non-rectangular shapes are involved; JPG otherwise.
